Watering regular is preferred; can tolerate some drought after established; suffers from salt burn on foliage in wet poorly drained locations
Fertilizing balanced in spring (afterbloom), use iron for chlorosis
Pruning to shape desired; as a tree, head high and stake when young
Pests/Diseases bacterial fireblight (a very serious disease); aphids, scale
