Gardens, Greenhouses and Growth at the Fullerton College Horticulture Department

Offering hands-on classes for homeowners, nursery and landscape employees, and students wishing to enter the “green industry,” the Horticulture Department at Fullerton College is one of the leading community college horticulture programs in California.

Horticulture Department

The Horticulture Department at Fullerton College is one of the leading community college horticulture programs in California. We offer a widely varied program which provides ‘hands-on’ classes for homeowners, nursery and landscape employees, and students wishing to enter the ‘green industry’. With a unique blend of the old and the new, our facilities combine high technology with traditional landscaping and growing practices.

Our department hosts events for such groups as Fullerton Beautiful, Orange County Master Gardeners, and the California Landscape Contractors Association. Finally, our program hosts several plant sales each year to help provide gardeners with unusual garden plants, herbs, and vegetables. In short, we strive to provide a program of instruction as unique and varied as the students who enroll in our courses.

Our Faculty

The Fullerton College Horticulture Department Faculty has over a century of combined education and experience in subjects from Landscape Design and Installation to Botany, Pest Control and Turf Care to Irrigation Science. Working in a hands-on environment, our award-winning, broadly experienced instructors are always right there with students designing, demonstrating, and digging. Sharing their dedication and love of plants, our Staff and Interns ably assist in student instruction while adding to and maintaining an impressive collection of plants for both study and the department plant sales.
